In Honor of Asian Butterfly Month A Rare Tea Tasting


Tucson, AZ: In honor of Asian butterfly month in the Tucson Botanical Gardens Butterfly Magic Exhibit, Seven Cups Tea House will be offering free tastings of two famous and rare green teas, on Saturday, February 20th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Zhuping Hodge, a certified tea master and tea scholar will be explaining Chinese organic farming and will talk about the teas being served. Eric Carr, a tea scholar who has been studying tea since childhood, will present information about the history of green tea and how it relates to the silk industry and the silkworm. Join us for this educational and delicious experience, free with paid admission to the Gardens.

ABOUT THE TEAS
Long Jing, also known as Dragon Well, is the most famous green tea in China. Zhejiang Province is the birthplace of both green tea and silk, and the famous Silk Road started in this province. We would not have silk without Bombyx Mori, also known as the silkworm, which is native to this area, and we would not have loose-leaf green tea if not for the tea masters in this province 600 years ago in the Ming Dynasty.
